Multiple identical pieces of equipment can be used in the workshop's Ascend feature. 

Ascend allows stacking identical equipment to increase their level cap or unlock new effects.
Unwanted equipment can also be sold for gold or traded for Roly Tokens (for Transmuter equipment).
